Blaine calls on over thirteen years of commercial real estate experience when directing Surplus Real Estate. He has completed a wide variety of real estate projects throughout the United States involving more than $240 million in cumulative value. His work for corporations includes surplus real estate dispositions of over 50 properties totaling in excess of $100 million and a myriad of tenant representation assignments involving over 1,000,000 square feet of space. In 1999, Blaine created and implemented a program to outsource the majority of required real estate services for Payless Cashways, a national home improvement retailer. The result was significant cost savings without sacrificing responsiveness or the quality of service for Payless. During the liquidation of Payless Cashways, Blaine continued to manage the outsource program by implementing a national disposition program for Payless totaling more than $200 million in real estate.

Blaine’s diverse knowledge has been the essential contribution on various national valuation projects. Specifically, in the accurate appraisal of commercial real estate valued at more than $300 million for a corporate retailer. Blaine created an exact specification to establish standards for reporting and located an appraiser in each market for competitive bids. At the project’s completion, Blaine reviewed the appraisals to insure compliance and served as an advisor throughout the entire process.

Previous Experience
Before founding The Expert Companies, Blaine worked for Glaze Commercial Real Estate Advisors as Vice President for nearly ten years. Prior to that, Blaine worked in the market research department of CB Commercial.
